Launch of the E-Learning Tool for WAAW 2025

WAAW 2025 - Antibiotic resistance poses a growing threat – yet schools lack teaching materials that address the topic in an age-appropriate, scientifically sound and pedagogically effective manner. To help close this gap, Anna Simona Rieder developed a free, open-access e-learning course for lower secondary school pupils (aged 13–15) as part of her Master’s thesis at the Institute of Medical Microbiology at the University of Zurich. Pupils step in the role of a digital doctor and work through nine clearly structured chapters, learn, in an interactive and practical way, what antibiotic resistance is, how it develops and what each of us can do to help prevent it.
