LUKS takes a stand against antimicrobial resistance

09.03.2026 - As part of World AMR Awareness Week 2025, Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS) launched the hospital-wide portrait series Hidden Heroes. The aim was to give visibility to professional groups who often work behind the scenes in everyday clinical practice, yet play a crucial role in preventing infections and antimicrobial resistance.
Through daily portraits, insights were shared into the work of the following departments: Infectious Diseases and Infection Prevention, the Microbiology Laboratory, the Cleaning Services, Clinical Pharmacy, and Quality Management.
The initiative forms part of the hospital’s overarching campaign Together Against Multidrug-Resistant Pathogens.
