Consumer prices fell by 0.1% in August
Neuchâtel, 04.09.2025 — The consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.1% in August 2025 compared with the previous month, reaching a level of 107.7 points (December 2020 = 100). Inflation was +0.2% compared with the same month of the previous year. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The 0.1% decrease compared with the previous month is due to several factors including lower prices for international package holidays, supplementary accommodation and air transport. The hire of private means of transport also recorded a price decrease. In contrast, housing rentals and prices for clothing and footwear increased.
