The federal government is running an awareness campaign to inform the public about the proper use of antibiotics. The campaign, launched in November 2018, forms part of the National Strategy on Antibiotic Resistance (StAR). Under the slogan ‘Antibiotics: Use wisely, take precisely’, the characters of mole, dog and frog explain the importance of using this medication properly, as well as the consequences for humans, animals, farming and the environment if bacteria become resistant to them. The campaign is being run across a range of media, including posters, TV adverts and online banners, as well as on social media and a dedicated website.
